A gift card is valid for 24 months from purchase and can be used more than once: whatever you don’t use stays on the card. You choose an amount between 10 and 500 euros. The card reaches the recipient by email on the day you choose, or you print it yourself. It is valid for all products in the nodarkness.be webshop.
How do you buy a gift card?
On the Gift card page in the shop you choose an amount: 25, 50, 75, 100, 150 or 250 euros, or an amount of your own between 10 and 500 euros. You enter the recipient’s name, your own name and, if you like, a message. Then you choose how the card arrives:
- By email to the recipient, straight away or on a date you choose, up to a year ahead;
- To print yourself: you receive the card yourself by email and give it on paper.
The card becomes active as soon as your payment has been received. You can buy up to ten gift cards per order. You cannot pay for a gift card with another gift card, and a discount code does not work on the purchase of a gift card.
How long is a gift card valid?
A gift card is valid for 24 months, counting from the purchase. The expiry date is on the card and you also see it when you check the balance. In 2026 the federal Council of Ministers approved a draft that makes gift cards in Belgium valid for at least two years from 1 April 2027; our cards already are.
Once a card has expired, you can no longer use it in the shop.
How do you use a gift card?
You enter the 16-character code (in the form XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) in the field for discount codes and gift cards in your cart or on the checkout page. The amount of the card is deducted from what you have to pay. If your order costs more than the balance, you pay the rest with a regular payment method. If it costs less, the difference stays on the card for next time.
- You can use up to three gift cards together for one order.
- You can combine a gift card with a discount code, insofar as that code applies to the products in your cart.
- A gift card is valid in the nodarkness.be webshop, not in No Darkness Pro.
- You cannot exchange a gift card for cash.
You can see the balance and the expiry date on the Gift card page in the shop, under “Check balance”, using the code of your card.
What happens to the card if you return something?
If you paid for an order (partly) with a gift card and you withdraw from the purchase, or we cancel the order, we put that amount back on the card. If the card has expired in the meantime, get in touch: you will not lose that amount.
Can you withdraw from the purchase of a gift card?
Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase of a gift card within 14 days of the purchase, as long as the card has not yet been (partly) used. You then get the full amount back using the means of payment you paid with, and the card becomes invalid. To do so, use the “Withdraw from contract here” button or one of the other ways on the withdrawal page.
What if you have lost the code?
Email us with your order number or the email address you used to buy the card. We will send the card again to the recipient or to you. A gift card is not in anyone’s name: whoever has the code can use it. So treat the code like cash. If we notice misuse, for example a code being used in two places at the same time, we may block the card until we have looked into it.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no VAT on the invoice for my gift card?
A gift card that can be used for all products is, for VAT purposes, a multi-purpose voucher. VAT is only charged when someone uses the card to buy something, and therefore appears on the invoice for that order.
Can I still change the date or the recipient’s email address?
As long as the card has not been sent yet, we will gladly change that for you. Email us with your order number.
Can I buy a gift card for more than 500 euros?
In the shop it goes up to 500 euros per card, but you can buy several cards. If you need a larger amount, for example for a corporate gift, get in touch.
