General terms and conditions

Last updated 10 October 2026

Short answer

These terms apply to every order you place as a consumer in the nodarkness.be webshop. You pay in advance via Mollie, you have a 14-day cooling-off period after receipt and every product comes with a two-year legal guarantee. The contract is governed by Belgian law, without you losing the protection that the mandatory rules of your own country’s law give you.

Who sells you the products?

The No Darkness webshop at nodarkness.be is operated by:

No Darkness BV
Anjelierenlaan 29, 8900 Ieper, België
Enterprise number: 0821.787.463
VAT number: BE 0821.787.463
Email: franky@nodarkness.be
Phone: +32 57 46 68 66

In these terms, “we” or “us” means this company and “you” means the customer who places the order. All our contact details and the ways to reach us are on the contact page.

Who do these terms apply to?

These terms apply to all orders in the webshop at nodarkness.be. You can save or print them; we also send them with the confirmation of your order. An order is governed by the version that was on this page at the time of ordering.

Some rights are granted by law only to consumers, that is, to people who buy for use outside their trade or business: the right of withdrawal and the legal guarantee as described on the withdrawal and guarantee pages. Installers, architects, interior fit-out contractors and other professionals can use No Darkness Pro, to which separate terms for professionals apply.

We do not accept a customer’s general terms and conditions unless we expressly agree to them in writing.

How do we describe our products?

We describe each product as accurately as possible, based on the manufacturer’s data: dimensions, lamp base, colour temperature, luminous flux, wattage, IP rating and material. Photos show the product as faithfully as we can, but a colour may look slightly different on your screen than in real life.

If a product page contains an obvious error, for example a price that clearly cannot be right or a feature that belongs to another product, we are not bound by it. We will then let you know as soon as possible. You choose whether you want to keep the order with the correct details; if not, we refund everything you have already paid.

What price do you pay?

All prices are in euros and include VAT. You see the shipping costs and any other charges in your cart and on the checkout page, before you confirm the order. You pay the price shown at the time of ordering; we do not increase it after that.

A discount code works according to the conditions stated with the code, such as a validity period or a minimum amount. You can use one discount code per order. A discount code does not work on gift cards, and as a rule not on products that are already offered in a promotion or with a was/now price, or that are sold as a premium product. Your cart shows straight away what the code does before you order. What you can do with gift cards is set out in the gift card terms.

When is your order final?

You put products in your cart, fill in your details, choose a delivery method and a payment method and confirm with the button indicating that your order involves an obligation to pay. The contract is concluded as soon as you have confirmed that order and the payment has succeeded.

You then receive a confirmation by email with an overview of your order, these terms, the information about your right of withdrawal and the model withdrawal form. Keep that email: it is your proof.

If a product turns out to be unavailable after you ordered, for example because the manufacturer no longer makes it, we tell you immediately. You then choose for yourself: wait if there is a new delivery date, an alternative we propose, or a refund. If you choose a refund, we refund you without delay.

How do you pay?

You pay in advance, online, via Mollie. The payment methods you can use are shown on the checkout page. You can also pay (part of) your order with a No Darkness gift card. We start on your order as soon as the payment is confirmed. You receive an invoice by email for every order. More explanation is on the payment page.

How and when do we deliver?

We deliver to the countries you can choose on the checkout page. You see the expected delivery time with each product and at checkout. Unless agreed otherwise, we deliver no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded. If we do not manage this, you may give us a reasonable additional period; if we still do not deliver, you may terminate the contract and we refund everything without delay. If delivery on a specific date was essential for you and you told us so before ordering, you may terminate immediately.

An order may arrive in more than one parcel, because some products ship directly from the manufacturer’s warehouse. You only pay the shipping costs once.

Until you or someone you designate (not the carrier) has the parcel in hand, No Darkness BV bears the risk if it is lost or damaged in transit. If a parcel is damaged or something is missing, let us know with a photo; we will resolve it at no cost to you. More on the shipping page.

Can you cancel or return your order?

As a consumer you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days after receiving the product, without giving a reason. You then have another 14 days to send the product back. The direct cost of returning it is yours. We refund the purchase price and the standard shipping costs within 14 days after you informed us of your decision. You can withdraw with the “Withdraw from contract here” button in the shop, with the model form or with a message of your own. All details and the exceptions are on the right of withdrawal page; how to send something back in practice is explained under returns.

What guarantee do you get?

As a consumer, you have the two-year legal guarantee on every product, from delivery. If something goes wrong during that period because of a defect that was already present at delivery, we repair or replace the product free of charge. If that is not possible, you are entitled to a price reduction or a refund. You report a defect within two months of discovering it. If a manufacturer gives its own, longer guarantee, it comes on top and never replaces the legal guarantee. Everything about the guarantee and complaints is on the guarantee and complaints page.

What are we liable for?

We are liable for the proper performance of your order, as provided by law. We are not liable for damage caused by a product being used, installed or connected other than as the manufacturer’s instructions prescribe, for example a non-dimmable lamp on a dimmer, an indoor lamp hung outdoors or an LED strip on the wrong power supply. Have fixed lighting connected by someone who knows the rules: the AREI in Belgium, NEN 1010 in the Netherlands.

This limitation never affects your statutory rights as a consumer, such as the legal guarantee, and does not apply in the event of intent or gross negligence on our part, nor to personal injury.

Who may use the photos and texts?

The texts, photos and other content of this webshop are protected. They come from us or from the manufacturers. You may view and print them for your own use, but not reproduce them for commercial purposes without our written permission.

What do we do with your data?

We use your data to carry out your order and to help you. How we do this, who we share data with and what rights you have are set out in the privacy statement. Which cookies and browser storage the shop uses is explained in the cookie policy.

Having trouble ordering with your assistive tools?

If you use a screen reader, magnification or only a keyboard and something in the shop gets stuck, let us know using the details on the contact page. We will help you complete your order and adapt the shop where necessary.

What if you have a complaint?

Contact us first; that way we resolve most problems together. If we cannot reach a solution together, as a consumer you can turn free of charge to the Consumer Mediation Service (Consumentenombudsdienst, Koning Albert II-laan 8 bus 1, 1000 Brussels, consumentenombudsdienst.be). If you live in another country of the European Union, the European Consumer Centre of your own country can help you. The European online dispute resolution (ODR) platform has no longer existed since 20 July 2025. More explanation is on the guarantee and complaints page.

Which law applies?

These terms and every contract with us are governed by Belgian law. If you live in another country as a consumer, you keep the protection given to you by the mandatory rules of that country’s law. A dispute may be brought before the competent court in accordance with the statutory rules; as a consumer you can also go to the court of your own place of residence.

Can these terms change?

We may amend these terms, for example if the law changes. The date of the last change is shown at the top. For an order you have already placed, the version in force at the time of ordering continues to apply.
